  •  Signing up for C.A.R.P membership online<--Posted Tuesday, December 23, 2003 by Gary
Hey everyone....couple of notes on buying or renewing your C.A.R.P. membership thru the website here. When you are signing up....

    1. Their are actually two online membership application forms. The first form you will see, is for your membership information. When you hit the continue button at the bottom of the first form, the second form will appear and is used to process your credit card securely. If you do not fill out the second credit card form with your credit card information....your membership renewal is not complete and is deleted from the database within 24 to 48 hours. Your card is not charged since you did not enter any card information but your membership is not renewed either. BE SURE you click the "Continue" button and fill out the credit card info if your renewing online.

    2. Memberships thru bike shops are entered and then you will recieve an e-mail or you can use the "Lost e-mail" function in the interface to recieve your userID and password. Be sure to carefully fill out your membership application at bike shops so we have the correct information for future reference.

    Thankee and MERRY CHRISTMAS
    Gary

P.S. - Don't forget the Annual Carp Jingle Bell ride tomorrow Christmas Eve at 1:30 at the Christmas tree at the end of the Yuca trail on Camp. We always decorate our bikes (at least bells and bows) ride for a few miles take a few pictures and then settle in for a hot cup of cocoa back at the truck. No big production, just friends being silly. Everyone is invited. Festive costumes encouraged.
    Be there or be Humbug

C.A.R.P. Website Back Online......<--Posted Saturday, December 20, 2003 by Gary
  • Ok Folks...the site is live :-) Basically, we tried to make the new C.A.R.P. site simple and easy to navigate with some nice membership features which hopefully will streamline receiving your membership in the future. Take a look around and click on the various links, you'll notice simple web pages with the information you need.

The most important new feature is the ability to buy or renew C.A.R.P. memberships online. Basically every current active member, or new rider, can now either renew their previous membership or buy a new membership here in the privacy of your home :-) In the next few weeks, each currently active member will recieve an e-mail (this applies only to users who have an e-mail that is correct) with a pre-generated userID and password. Once you recieve this e-mail...you can login from the login screen and if active, check your membership status/renew and/or change your password/edit your profile.

***Note*** - If your membership is currently active the membership webpage will show your initial membership as $0.00 since your record is currently active. Renewals will show the amount paid for the renewal.

Folks who wish to buy a new membership can hit the sign-up page and renew there. If your active but do not have an e-mail, you can e-mail Gary for a userID and password so you can manage your membership online. Those members who still do not use e-mail or the web can continue to renew your C.A.R.P membership at local bike shops when your membership expires.

We are still working with Camp Robinson to approve the registration e-mail as a temporary membership until your member card arrives via mail. DO NOT TAKE YOUR E-MAIL MEMBERSHIP RECEIPT AND ATTEMPT TO GET INTO CAMP ROBINSON TO RIDE. You will be turned away unless you have an Official C.A.R.P. Membership card. We'll keep everyone posted as soon as the temporary e-mail receipt is approved for use by Camp Robinson.

You will still be mailed a permanent membership card and I get those out as soon as possible, but they take few days. Local Bike shops can issue the card in the store normally like in the past.

Due to the huge administrative burden of managing family memberships, Family memberships have been discontinued. Your current family membership will be honored. Once it expires however, you will need to resubscribe for an individual one year C.A.R.P. Membership at $10. The individual membership is required of every rider who wishs to ride the Camp Robinson trails.

  • For those of you who are current active C.A.R.P. Members with a correct e-mail address. Over the next month, all of you will receive an e-mail with your generated userID and password where you can logon to the site here and manage your membership. When you login..we suggest you edit your userID and password to something you can remember or keep what we mailed you. We're going to roll the e-mails out slow so don't panic if your buddy has his login and you don't. The active C.A.R.P. membership is rather large, so will roll these e-mails out in blocks so as not to overload the server here. Contact me (Gary) if you have questions.

  • ...while we're visiting on e-mail....we are cleaning up all the old e-mail addresses that bounce back to us. We've noticed that some folks e-mail boxes just seem to be full so the message bounce anyway. If we recieve a bounced e-mail because your box is full - you will be removed from the C.A.R.P. mailing list automatically. We've also been told that free mail services like Juno will not accept list mail. Please use a real e-mail if you want to recieve C.A.R.P. e-mail consistently.

  • If you haven't figured it out already...this news page here will be a major source of information on wuzz up within the C.A.R.P. organization. The news will be archived by month if you desire to see some past event information. If you have any problem with the site...let us know and will iron it out. Be sure to verify your net connection is not the issue first however.

  • Thanks Gary
