March 2008
Too Good to be true?<--Posted Tuesday, March 25, 2008 by Gary
TODAY - March 29th!

Hey I'm having a pretty good sized bike garage sale. Would you possibly forward this to your members?

Many thanks, Matt Long

The manager has gone crazy! He says he'd rather sell em' at a loss than move em'!!! Seriously, big bike garage sale... 59 Prospect Trail, North Little Rock. From the big damn bridge head northeast for less than a mile on Crystal Hill road. Turn right on White Oak. Take first left (Prospect Trail). My house is at the top of the hill on the left.  The Wild Wild Internet....<--Posted Wednesday, March 19, 2008 by Gary
Ok...had to get some news in here for the geek in all of us....from Wired...

"There's a rift in the internet, pitting the Swedes and the Yanks against one another and making it difficult for millions to visit websites hosted across the Atlantic.

U.S.-based Cogent Communications shut down their links to the Swedish-based ISP Telia last Thursday in what Cogent describes as a contract dispute about the size and locations of the pipes connecting the two ISPs.

Like many large ISPs, Cogent and Telia interconnect their networks at multiple points and trade roughly equivalent amounts of traffic, an arrangement called peering.

The feud has continued through Tuesday, keeping it impossible for Swedes, along with other Nordic and Baltic residents, to reach sites hosted on Cogent's network and vice versa.

That's likely much more of a customer service problem for Telia than Cogent, due to geography and the size of Cogent's network (see illustration above)....."

Aw yeah...no wonder stuff like AMBCS going down is a daily event...

Demo Rides This Weekend....<--Posted Friday, March 7, 2008 by Gary
This is a short notice for a GREAT Demo ride opportunity this weekend. The Specialized demo trailer will be in Arkansas this weekend and you'll have the chance to ride some of the best bikes around including mountain bikes like Stumpjumpers, Epics, Enduros, 29ers, and road bikes like Tarmacs, Transitions, SL2s, Roubaixs, and Rubies.

Make sure to visit the trailer in one of these two locations:

1. Test ride MTBs on Saturday at the Spa City MTB Extreme at Cedar Glades in Hot Springs.

2. Test ride road or MTBs Sunday from 10-4 at Burns Park from the boat ramp.

Thx
Gary
