|
Found 5/21/06 in Hillcrest (Harrison and "G" Streets) young, male, yellow lab/retriever mix wearing red collar (no tags). Another neighbor and I have been searching for owner for the past week. He looks like he weighs about 50-55 pounds, so he is not real big. Not sure how long he has been lost prior to a week ago. He is an extremely sweet and happy fellow.

-------------------------------- Carp Members,
We at Carp have financialy helped CARTI, the sponsor of the June 10th Tour De Rock bicycle fun ride, criterium races & related fun events since the begining three years ago. Now CARTI needs Carp volunteers to step up and help as follows:
*Food Servers from 11am - 2pm
*Volunteers to stand at road blocks and give directions from 6:30am - 10:30am (one event) & from 10:30AM - 2PM (another event).
*Volunteers to help keep people off the criterium course from 9:30AM - 2PM. Of course anyone who is a bike rider will want to attend the most fun filled day of bike riding in Little Rock, bring the kids, plan to ride with the family or an office team, heck bring Grandma, it's not all a race, it's a fund raiser for a good cause, just make plans and come on out.

Ride of Silence and Bike To Work Day Reminders.....<--Posted Sunday, May 7, 2006 by Gary

Greetings everyone:
*BACA Announces Two Major Events For The Month of May, 2006*
BACA is pleased to announce its participation in two national bicycling events. On May, 17, BACA will sponsor a Ride of Silence to honor and remember cyclists who have been injured or killed while riding their bikes on roadways. Similar rides will be held across the United States and eight other countries. The purpose of the ride is to remember and honor cyclists who have been killed or injured, to raise awareness about the presence of bicyclists on the roadways, and to encourage sharing of the road.
The ride will be held along the scenic trail section at Jimerson Creek, beginning under the I-430 overpass and ending just past the Alltel Building. Riders are encouraged to arrive at 6:30 PM. The ride will start promptly at 7:00 PM. Riders will ride in silence for the entire ride, two abreast at a slow pace (around 12 mph.) For information on the history and of this ride, visit the Ride of Silence Homepage at www.rideofsilence.org.
On May 19, BACA is sponsoring the 5th annual Bike To Work Day. (.pdf file - give it a moment to load) Participation in the ride is free, but riders must register the morning of the event. This year's event will include a prize drawing, a free light breakfast and event t-shirts. As a part of the event, BACA will be issuing a Commuter Challenge to employers. Employers with the most employee participants will receive special recognition from BACA. The event will include simultaneous rides along the Little Rock and North Little Rock sections of the River Trail, ending at the River Market pavilion. Registration begins at 6:15 AM and the ride begins promptly at 7:00 a.m. The League of American Bicyclists highlights bicycle commuting every year by proclaiming May as Bike To Work Month. Bike To Work events will be held throughout the nation on May 19. For more information about Bike To Work Month, visit www.bikeleague.org.
*Anyone participating in the events must wear an approved bicycle helmet. *Additional information will be posted on the website very soon.
