Anyone Tripping to PedroFest ?<--Posted Sunday, July 31, 2005 by Gary
Any of the CARP team checking PedroFest? Looks like a sweet event....maybe the Woodstock of Mt Biking? A bit of a long trip up to Lanesboro, Massachusetts, but the event schedule is loaded.....

Maybe some ideas here for this year's 100 Minutes of CARP? For those of us who wish to live vicariously thru the eyes of attendees....pedalpushersonline.com is carring live photo updates via their website.

Our good friend Tinker Juarez will be leading rides and rumors abound Tyler Hamilton will be hanging out also. Should be a blast!

CARP Sleeveless Jersey Update......<--Posted Saturday, July 16, 2005 by Gary
This is your last chance to get a sleeveless jersey. We haven’t had a lot of interest, so we will only order enough for those who ask, no extras. They will look just like the new orange, green & white one. They will be what is called a Pro-fit, which is a tight fit. If you have one of the old purple or new orange, green & white ones (which are a bulky fit) I would recommend at least one size larger, unless you want it to fit tight. I will be at Camp Robinson, down at the CARP pad, with some samples for you to try on this coming Wednesday night. So get your order in now. daron@carpclub.com (do not just respond to this email it will go to Gary) I will confirm with those that are interested, so please do not email again. I will order them either next week or the week after.

Most of you do some road riding to cross-train for Mt Bike racing, and what a cool deal to catch a stage of the Tour De France on the Big screen. The Tyler Hamilton Foundation has brought the "Live Loud Large" Tour De France stage to the big screen in Little Rock. Type in a LR zip code in the zip code box off the link above and get the details.

 BACA - Watermelon Event - July 14th Thursday...<--Posted Thursday, July 7, 2005 by Gary
BACA & Arkansas Bicycle Club Joint "Watermelon Event/Meeting," Thursday JULY 14th

BACA will have a joint “watermelon event/meeting” with the Arkansas Bicycle Club on July 14, 7:00 p.m. at Pavilion #1 at Murray Park (Pavilion closest to the Lock & Dam). Watermelon and beverages will be provided. Following a brief update on exciting developments about the River Trail, the Murray Lock and Dam Bridge, the Clinton Library Bridge, and the North Little Rock bicycle plan, we will walk/run/bike/in-line skate (your preference) to view progress at the construction site of the Lock and Dam Bridge.

Help celebrate a great year of bicycle advocacy, including a successful National Bike to Work day, beginning of construction of the Lock and Dam Bridge, completion of the Quorum Court Trails at Two Rivers Park, and expansion of trails in North Little Rock. Bring a picnic dinner if you like.

Hope to see you there!

It's time for the 4th Cookout of the Year. Tonight, Wed. 7:00 or there about, be there for something different--Fajitas! They will be provided by the Arkansas Cycling and Fitness. That's right Richard Mayachiek and Jim Kincannon will be grilling beef and chicken with their own special seasonings.. Cold drinks will be provided. All you have to do is show up ride and enjoy the grub. No charge. We usually stay till the food or drinks are gone, so come early and stay late. The weather should be great. We'll cook unless it is pouring down rain.

See you there,
