 Aug 3 BACA Meeting - Thursday 7 p.m.....<--Posted Monday, July 31, 2006 by Gary
BACA Meeting - 7 p.m., this coming Thursday, August 3rd at the Oyster Bar, 3003 Markham.

PLEASE TURN OUT!

GREAT OPPORTUNITY - to show appreciation & support for County Judge Buddy Villines & his leadership in building the longest bicycle/pedestrian bridge in the world right here in Central Arkansas. Also get an important update from Judge Villines on plans for the grand opening weekend for the Big Dam Bridge Party, including the Grand Opening Ride across the bridge on Saturday, September 30 & the Big Dam Bridge 100 mile ride (& 20 & 55 mile rides)on Sunday, October 1.

Judge Villines has been very supportive of BACA at every step in the development & construction of the bridge, never failing to mention BACA when speaking about the bridge & consistently stating that the bicyclists are to be first to cross the bridge at the official grand opening ceremony. Let's see if we can't set a record attendance for this meeting as a way to show our appreciation to Judge Villines.

And, of course, there will also be good food, companionship of other bicycle advocates & updates on BACA efforts, including the effort to reopen the south entrance of Fort Roots to bicycles. It is now closed.

NOTE! - Because the Little Rock Trail is temporarily closed at the Lock & Dam, First Fridays Bike to Work this Friday will start at Cook's Landing on the North Little Rock Trail & go to the River Market in Little Rock. Details will be sent in a separate announcement.

DON'T FORGET TO SIGN THE ON-LINE PETITION REQUESTING THAT THE QUORUM COURT NAME THE DAM BRIDGE THE JUDGE BUDDY VILLINES PEDESTRIAN-BICYCLE BRIDGE. JUST GO TO:
