BACA Meeting Sept 3rd, 7 PM - Oyster Bar<--Posted Thursday, August 27, 2009 by Gary
Hey all:

Don't miss the next BACA meeting!

Jenn Shaw and Mechelle Winslow will report on their Safe Routes to School conference. These trails and infrastructure could help all bicyclists in getting around the city.

We will also have a follow up report on the Little Rock side of the River Trail prompted by the last meeting's program with Mayor Stodola.

During the summer BACA's Board has been doing some strategic planning. We have had one two-hour session and are planning another. Stay tuned for a chance to have your input.

Many bike racks have been installed on South Main, the new Science and Nature Center, and on several other streets and at businesses around town. Bike route signs have been put up in new locations, to include the new Harper's Loop at the end of the North Little Rock River Trail. A new part of the NLR trail has also been paved off Campbell Lake. And NLR has submitted a "Bicycle Friendly City" Application. These are just a few things in the past few months that have total support from BACA.

Our work continues to change the culture of the Central Arkansas Area. We hope you will join us for the next meeting on September 3rd.

As always...
There will be good food and good company!

We have been working hard this summer updating and refreshing the look of www.bacar.org.

We also hope you enjoy the new look of BACA's Newsletter. We are looking for a permanent volunteer to serve as our webmaster. If you are interested, please email info@bacar.org.

(A special thanks to Crystal Hunnicutt in Fayetteville and Greg Eberdt at www.arkansasweb.com for helping to get the website and email up and running!)

Greg rawks on a road bike....(Thanks Mike Kelsey for archiving this stuff....)
